Now they are calling for a big winter storm with snow across the NE - hope everybody is going to be ok. Doesn't look like it will get this far south.

Yes but I am trying to get the 10 circuit unit so that I do not have to do this job twice. This AM, I went into my breaker panel and wired up my furnace leads to a sacrificed extension cord male parts and got heat into my house from the gas furnace.

I don't want to jinx it but i just saw to PSE&G trucks with booms on them pull up on my block. I hope/ pray we have power soon. This is getting old.

rain & winds this morn; then wintry mix, and now a light snow.
i don't reckon Winter Storm Athena will leave much snow where i am { 36F @ mo }, but just saw on the news that parts of NJ are havin' a heavier snowfall,,

we wound up w/4" snow but the sidewalks are already slushy as we are not below freezin' point here.

checked w/mom & dad, mostly to see if they kept power { and they did, thank goodness }; they wound up w/5-6" snow on top of ice { temps are in the low 20s where they live,, }

it gone beyond finding the words running that generator im sure and having to get gas.
longest we have ever gone was (five ) 5 days and it was when the national grid went down also was summer !
I hope if you have friends in the area..you have invited them over to your place if they don't have a generator and are out of heat to.

also has the goverment been around and offer any kind of help to people in your area that your aware of . if so what has been said ?

I am have. I am am powering both my senior citizen neighbors with power from the generator. I only make them contribute for gas. I am basically married to this generator. I am trying to keep it in top running condition as it is the life line of 3 families. I have gotten paranoid to ensure it is in good shape a well as secure because my fence has broken with storm and can be easily accessed.

thats a wonderful thing your doing David :)
I have the biggest chain I could fine and one hell of Lock. attached to that unit .
I just loan a friend the propane torpedo heater . that I use to keep me toasty when in my work shed. his furnance to a crap last night and there using to stay warm . his wife is the one with major medical heart problems and also has MS. his repairman said it take till tomorrow before they will have repacement parts.(this is why I was told don't buy a 95% or above efficent furnance when we replaced my old one ) it was availabilty and cost of replacement parts.
