So I am thinking about replacing an older phenom II 955 desktop with a laptop. Really trying to get away from the dedicated "office". I have not looked at laptops in years and I think I need some suggestions.
I use my current desktop for light gaming, nothing cutting edge. I do use it for transcoding blu-rays as well as ripping them. Storage is not a huge concern, as all the files are stored on my fileserver. It would be nice to have a blu ray drive.
I mostly only ever sit down in the office to scan documents using my Fujitsu scaansnap s1500, and for balancing checkbooks and such. For this, dual monitors its extremely usefully and I don't want to lose that. So I really need something with a large display, that is easy to connect a second monitor. I was thinking docking station, or even hdmi would be ok. I frequently use my tablet in the living room, and something that can be folded for this purpose would be great. I would prefer an Intel i7, instead of an ad at this point.
anything come to mind? My budget is $1000-$1500.

OK so I am looking at the below, even though it is not convertible. My question is about dual displays. Will I be able to simply hook up an HDMI monitor to the HDMI and use dual displays with a GT650M graphics?
