Hardware that has gone but is not forgotten...

Post by DaMaN »

This thread will be dedicated and memorializing computer hardware that served us well and died in the act of duty...

SilverStone Power Supply SST-ST85ZF

RIP "Glenda" the Power Supply

Image
2005 - 2012

Purchased in early 2005 & discovered dead yesterday peacefully and eternally asleep. Nary a warning and never complained, she served me well on my main rig that was on all the time 99% of its life. No complaints, no regrets, Glenda enjoyed reading, film, loud music, flying, travel, killing zombies and booze...Glenda was also greatly amused by farts and was often heard to say 'Who Farted?' She loved to laugh at herself as well as others.

Goodbye my friend, I am sure you will be happy that your organs will be donated to science (my parts bin).

KDS 17" Monitor. Purchased in 1999. Died in 2008. Although I switched to a Dell flat panel 2 years prior. I still like to have it around to work on other computers. I went to turn it on and it made the pop of death.

RIP.

Honestly, other than CD/DVD & hard drives, I really haven't had much of my own stuff die.
