Being a turbine.. it will run on about anything that will burn.

Turbines aren't as expensive as you'd think. Lots of retired engines out there with no real use to typical citizens.

Yea. People think they are expensive. They are when bought new. But after X number of hours they become non air worthy. Normally they are then scrapped for the precious metals and melted down to make new ones.

But all most all of the non air worthy ones you can buy for a bit above scrap value. The trick is knowing how to work on them and how to get it to run in an environment it was not designed to.

Even if that guy got the turbine for free, creating that car with it had to be very costly.
