I told the wife she could pick out a ring for Valentine's Day. On President's day we finally made it to the mall. While there, I ventured into the FYE and walked out with a number of CD's. I was amazed they had what I was looking for save one. They didn't have Die Antwoord's Tension in stock.
1) Band of Skulls - Sweet Sour
I highly recommend this if you're a fan of old school rock. I listened to this straight through on the was to work this morning enjoyed every track. The quality of the recording is also good.

2) Pink Floyd - Piper at the Gates of Dawn 2011 Remaster
I've listened to this numerous times but didn't have this in my collection. I was apprehensive buying this remaster but upon listening to it, I'm pleased with the mix. The stereo is well separated and the engineer didn't try to over suppress the tape hiss that should be present on a recording from the mid 60's. It's very clear and doesn't sound distorted.

3) Serj Tankian - Imperfect Harmonies
So far I'm regretting buying this. I like System of the Down and thought Serj's first solo album, Elect the Dead, was Brilliant. His new album has lots of potential but I can't stand listening to it. There is no dynamic rage at all. It's way too load. The vocals are behind the music and the album sounds like someone turned the treble down on my stereo. This may be a worse mix than Metallica's Death Death Magnetic or Red Hot Chili Pepper's Californication.
The video below is how the album really sounds. I've made better recordings with a boombox.

I also purchased Avenged Sevenfold's Nightmare and City of Evil. I'll update this one I listen to them in full. I've head most of the songs from them and expect them to be good.
