Is kinda cool but in reality, by the time one finishes a project like that, you'll end up sinking some major $$ into it and maybe more than if you were able to find, fix an original.
Yeah, but usually the original's main problem is the body. So, if you find a donor car that's all rusted out, you've got a deal & a reliable body that you don't have to sand to death. I'm not into original parts, so really I'd only need the basics & then I'd slap a 5.0, 5 speed, & 9" rear in that thing & call it good.
This is good for the enthusiast market no doubt. Some of us actually like a nice solid body, better than the ones normally rolling off the assembly lines these days. Still quite a cost, so it certainly won't appeal to the majority. Would make a nice father and son project though! Best part, is after it is all done, you get bonding time and the kid gets his first car!
