OKAY I went to Comcast.com and entered my zip and my address. Then I went to products and then Xfinity Internet, and clicked on the red "Start Shopping" button. I scrolled down the menus ignoring all the headlined packages with low prices for the first 6 months and 2 year contracts and came to the the regular no-contract offers.

One is the "Economy Internet Service" 1.5Mbit for $35.95 a month. That's what I have on my rental along with basic cable TV (which you have to get at a minimum) which adds another $14 or so plus taxes.

Since you won't be able to see the Comcast page I'm on because it's customized for my area, here's a PDF file of what I saw (scroll down to page 2): http://soldcentralfl.com/bob/Comcastplans.pdf

This is a standard plan and you should have something similar in your area, although probably not exactly the same price.

DO NOT go to the Comcast office. Call customer service on the PHONE. The people at the office are fine for swapping out modems and boxes, and for paying your bill, but they are really not interested in helping you get a plan that meets your needs.

I was force upgraded yesterday from DSL to U-Verse. Went from 6Mb/s to 12Mb/s. At least it was free.... for this year.
