I'm somewhat shocked at how many people are still using it. Also shocked by how Asia has embraced it despite being such a pirate centric area (and thus could obtain newer versions for a pittance).

I think the whole reason that China is still at that high a level is because most PCs there ARE running pirated versions of XP, and thus are not being updated, nor can you install IE 7 & 8 on them since that requires you to pass WGA.

Sure there are hack to intall IE 7 & 8 on a pirated system, but if keep in mind that anyone with one of these PCs has no incentive to hack updates. You buy a cheap PC at the corner mom & pop and you have no clue that you're not getting updates.
