it says SAS/SATA compatible, but doesn't specify what the internal connector type is for the drives. i'd like SFF 8482, which is very close to SATA, but won't fit due to it being one solid piece instead of separate like SATA data/power.
Interesting, I like the idea of fitting 4 drives in one 5 1/4" slot (am I assuming right?). I'm currently running 3 SCSI drives, but will likely go with this route in the future. From the review that you can just pull the circuit board out if you have issues & run the drives straight to the cables (though it somewhat defeats the purpose). These days, most drives have a standard layout (especially 2.5" drives) & it's assumable that this backplane would fit that layout.
