LOL, Broadband, where do we dialups post at? LOL again.
We'll as I may have posted I have been having problems for awhile. I'm not having a good time with phone lines or ISP, been problems for awhile with both. Most recently phone lines!
I got an $80 credit today! I made some calls, and though I was nice to the people I was talking to on the phone I made it clear in a nice way what I thought of the service repairs I been getting on the last 4 calls!
Call 1: Local guy called and said he would work on it.
Call 2: I was told at main office, call 1 resulted in some line repair that did not fix the problem I am having, they thought it was fixed on call 1 but did not bother to contact me locally to ask. Then someone local called me about call 2 and said they would work on it Friday locally. Never heard anything again.
Call 3: A service guy comes to house, tests line with meter says its fine, his hand set has low noise and says that is fine, my phone has louder noise and he says it's a cheap phone. As always they ask about my house wires that are not even connected during testing of the outside line box.
AFTER call 3: Serviceman had said new substation is going in nearby, if I am within 5 miles I can get DSL, so I drive the route! I am about 4 miles away. HOWEVER, in driving to the back dirt road where my lines come in to my property I find the pedestal is ripped out of ground and knocked apart in 4 or more pieces, my exposed bare wires are mashed in dirt, ground wire sheared in half! Etc.. Etc...
Call 4: I am not happy and tell them nicely after being told the line noise is fine and nothing wrong that I have located the problem in their equipment myself, the Pedestal was destroyed, so their people are not very interested in fixing things here or looking for the problems! I drove by and saw the problem from my car, their service people are not doing anything to locate problems!
Service man comes out to fix this, pulls bare wires from ground, does what ever, wraps the works in heavy plastic and tapes it tight! Says the line needs dug up a bit to install new pedestal, and will send out a digger machine and finish repairs. Comes to house and tests the lines, says the line noise is fine and his meter shows nothing wrong, It's my cheap phone. BULL!!
Call 5: (today) I inform main office it has been way over a week, I have not got the new pedestal installed yet, they say my gawd this line noise is horrible I am getting a headache from it! I say ya well you should have been on hold waiting for you to answer for 10 minutes, I am deaf in my right ear now and in process now of going deaf in the left ear since I changed sides with the phone.
I was told the work order has a "FIX THIS NOW" note, "GET SUPERVISOR" if needed, "OR ELSE" note on the work order!
Call 5 A: I call billing, I start out saying I do not want to pay last months bill at all (and why not paid yet), none of this months bill do I want to pay, and if not fixed I will not plan to pay Jan. bill either, then explain all this 5 service calls to them!
I was on hold a short time, I was told my currant amount due for 2 months on 2 lines etc.. would only be $9!!
Hmmm, about an $80 savings!
I was also told that when credits start being issued things generally get fixed fast because the higher offices take notice also!!
Ya, I bet they take notice higher up when they see they are not collecting money!!!
Well, I guess it's been awhile since this all started, I don't know when the Pedestal was destroyed on the back road, I normally don't go back there much. I been making the calls 1-5 over some time now! My lines got really bad about 2 months ago!
I was told I will hear from someone tomorrow locally and "THIS WILL BE FIXED" or I am to call back before 5PM to the main office again!
Well we shall see.
At least I got about 2 months of free service on 2 lines etc.. I think $9 might barley cover the taxes? Not even cover the caller ID, unlisted number stuff etc.... LOL
