Darn useful CPU benchmark comparison page

I just used this to decide on a CPU for my replacement file server. Sometimes comparing CPUs (especially between AMD and Intel) is like comparing apples and oranges. The clock and FSB speeds don't mean anything anymore.

Just enter the model of the CPUs you're interested in and compare the passmark score. Higher is better.

What's neat about this compared to, for instance, Tom's Hardware CPU Chart is that EVERY CPU is on this list - including server CPUs and older legacy CPUs. In my case I was comparing a couple of Dell systems. One was a server and one a workstation that I could easily make into a server. Both are around the same price with different loadouts. One has an Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 2.8 GHz CPU and the other an AMD Opteron 1352 2.1 GHz Quad Core. Going on clock speed alone you'd think the Intel CPU would be faster, but you'd be wrong. The Intel E7400 scores a Passmark of 1846. The Opteron 1352 scores 2567. Quite a difference.
