Buying it direct or from a retail store. Be aware that when you buy a Dell from a retail store, the store usually handles the warranty service not Dell.

Take a look at the Studio 17 also from the business division. Very stylish and you get better tech support: http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/ ... c=topic~us

Also the Vostro 1720. Not as stylish but a lot of bang for the buck, and again better tech support: http://www.dell.com/content/products/pr ... l=en&s=bsd

I wouldn't send my worst enemy to Dell's Home Division.

Also, check here for deals: http://www.gotapex.com/

And check here for coupon codes: http://www.meanbargains.com/dell/

Thanks FP, I checked the usual sources first. I ordered this one b/c it had a couple of things I wanted that I didn't want to pay for like the 9 cell batt, dedicated vid , etc. This will be the third Inspiron I've ordered and I've never had any issues. My first one is still going strong after 6 years except for a hard drive replacement this year I did for the guy who owns it now.
