Just bought a 1996 Corvette

Post by Executioner »

I've always wanted a Corvette, and finally I have one. It's not a new one, as I can't see spending tons of money on a car, but this was a good deal. The dealer had it priced at $14,500. On my first day, I offered $13,000 which he said he would accept. I came back 3 days later, and offered them $12,000 which they finally accepted after some haggling. I put down $2,500, and have a 3 year car payment of $329.00.

I'll post some pics later this weekend. What really surprised me during my research on this car, was the gas mileage. On the open road, you can get ~27 miles per gallon. Driving it home on a road with a 55 mph speed, it was getting almost 30 mpg.

The car has 81,000 miles and the color is white, which I prefer due to living in the hot desert. I already have a black Ford F150 Crew Cab, and that sucker gets really hot in the summer.

Yeah, they have tall gearing & an engine that can handle it. My Firebird was great on trips.

Very Cool :) 90% of the Corvettes are beautiful cars :) There are some ugly ones, but not many. If I could "fit" a corvette comfortably, I'd have bought an 70s-80s model a long time ago. I don't want one with all the computers, I want one that's straight motor so I can work on it lol Enjoy you're new toy!

Forgot to take pics of the interior, but its just as clean as the outside. I also did a car fax report, so I know the care was well maintained.

Very nice indeed! One of my favorite Corvettes personally (well, I do like the current ones, but they are way out of my budget).
