Dear Michael Greenberg,

The steps for replacing the keyboard is not available. I suggest that you bring the computer to any third party repair shop to be able to replace the keyboard of the computer.

It's sad how fast Gateway went downhill. Several years ago, I purchased a Pentium II 450 with 128Mb Ram, a Voodoo II (can't remember what the main card was), and an Intel 440Bx chipset. This was probably one of the best computers I've ever owned. One evening, Windows 98 started giving me problems after installing a particular piece of software. I called their technical support and the gentleman who took my call walked me through a complete installation of the OS.

The problem now is that many places don't hire people who are into computers to take customer calls. They hire the cheapest employee they can get and set them in front of a computer with a FAQ and troubleshooting list.

Yeah, that is pretty bad support. Replacing the keyboard shouldn't be all so hard though. It is mostly a matter of a couple of screws that hold it in place.
When all else fails, replace the user.

This would be much funnier if it wasn't.

One of the things I like about Dell is that they have all the service manuals with complete dis assembly instructions all available online.

I've also recently dealt with Dell tech support for mobo replacements out of warranty, and they aren't too unreasonable.
