looking for a reasonabley priced Intel Mboard...

at a GOOD reasonable price! Must support QUAD core. Any suggestions?

Would REALLY like it if it supported 4 ide devices...I have 4 ide dvd drives on my system and if I can I would like to keep it that way...but if I cant thats ok.

Besides that onboard sound, and the more usb ports the better. Dont care what chipset it is as long as it is fast.

I have:

8800GT
2 150gb raptors (RAID 0)
1 750gb hd
4 disk drives

Well, if you want to be able to use 4 IDE drives, based on Newegg's site, that takes you down from 175 results, to 14. Some are open box listings, the ones that are not are mostly Nvidia chipsets.

The other way is to look into IDE to SATA converters for those drives and find a board with multiple SATA ports.

Cheapest is a Via for $70, cheapest Nvidia is $108. both Asrock brand. Price starts flying upward after that. Any particular reason for 4 DVD drives that you want to keep it that way?

I like it. My case has 4 cd drive faces...the ones that cover the drive but allow it to open and I like having them all having something behind them. No other reason.

I am not looking for the cheapest board ever. I want one that will perform well, but boards for intel are so much more expensive then AMD ones. ;(

I've got the MSI P6N SLI-FI (but there are a couple other higher end versions as well) & it's treated me well & I've heard many good things about quad overclocking on it (usually 3ghz or more; I've only got a dual E4300, but it is doing 3ghz just fine). Top that off by the fact that it's very reasonably priced & it's hard to ignore.

Gana get the MSI P7N Diamond. Newegg got a open box for $170. Has everything I want/need.

Good choice. I set a friend up with the P7N & it's doing well with his Q6600 (@ 3ghz; didn't try for higher), 4gb, & dual 8800GT's. I didn't realize that it had two IDE ports because I didn't use them & didn't notice that they were seperated. Been stable for a month so far. It gets friggen hot though, so make sure you've got some ultra cooling going on for both the case & the heatsink.
