I am running Vista Ultimate and Firefox. My email app is Windows Mail. When I click on a link from my email I get the following errror message
I have went into control panel and I think I have made Firefox the default browser and Windows Mail the default email handler, but still get the message.
It seemed to have started when I installed MS Office 2007.
I can't seem to figure it out.
It gives me that error, and then continues to open the page in Firefox just fine.

Easiest way to do that is to run Internet Explorer and make it your default browser. Then close it and open Firefox and make it your default browser.

Make a restore point first and then make IE the default browser, then try both the URL and HTM/HTML association fixes here: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm
See if that fixes it with IE as the default. If it does then change Firefox to the default.
If that doesn't work then your best bet may be to use system restore to go back to a time before the problem occurred (always go back a week or more before the problem).
Hope this helps.

When I make IE default it works fine.
I tried those reg fixes but the url fix would not install, an error about xp, and I'm running Vista.
I think I might uninstall Office, since I think that is when it started this crap.
Doh.. Now yer shooting the wrong person lol.. It's not FireFox's fault that MS has an issue lol I've been digging around and can't find a solution or you.. But I'll keep trying. I've never had a problem, but I won't use Vista either..

Don't see one for URL though, although they have them for HTM and HTML.
Have you tried System Restore yet?
As a last resort try downloading Firefox 3 beta which should take over the URL file association and hopefully fix it in the process. Then you can set it back to Firefox 2 (you can have both installed) or just use 3 which works fine, just doesn't support some add-ons yet.
Hope this helps...
