Gone in 60 Seconds. Could it be a Bruckhiemer film was made that's actually decent?

For the most part, I hate Jerry Bruckhiemer films, but this was a pretty decent movie. I'm re-watching a couple parts I liked, as I type this. I don't know if you've seen this movie, but when Nick Cage's character starts up that Mustang, I was quite thankful I have a well powered 12" sub and some good floor speakers, so I could appreciate the sound of that car. Do yourself a favour, and check it out.

You think it's a good movie? I think it sucked... well, at least not up to my expectation... If you are just re-watching the parts that you like, that's nice, but overall the story is slow and boring IMHO...

I said it was a decent movie, not a good movie. After seeing Armageddon, my standards weren't particularly high for the movie. I was just hoping to be mildly entertained. I think it did that well enough. I'm glad I watched it. I don't feel like I wasted my money. I won't rent it again, but I did enjoy it.

I just watched Gone in 60 Seconds the other night on DVD, not bad, nothing great, one time watcher.

Jerry Bruckheimer has made some pretty good movies tho, like Beverly Hills Cop, Crimson Tide, The Rock and Con Air (seems he likes to work with Nick Cage). I'm looking forward to his upcoming title Pearl Harbor.

I've always liked Bruckheimer flicks. Nick Cage is one of my favorite actors, so I guess that helps. The Rock, Con Air, Gone in 60 seconds... all good movies I think. Con Air is the worste of the three.

The story of Gone in 60 Seconds is kinda weak, I guess. But we don't go to that movie to see a story, we watch the movie to see the cars and to see chics. It's a mans movie, no doubt :)

I'm a big time fan of Nickolas Cage but I don't think this movie was worth watching in the theater, maybe in DVD/video rentals only. The stars were great, the cars were hot and the sound affects were ok but the story lines were weak at best. This movie was made for the quick fix for cash (I think either Jerry's broke or is on drugs) and was probably edited by some film students whacked out on poppy seeds. It didn't seemed like anyone even tried to make it presentable.

I never saw this newer one, but I remember the one that was made in the seventies. My class at school had a field trip to go watch the movie, and as a promo, they had the beat up mustang from the movie on display at the cinema.
Man, that thing had so many weld jobs holding it together and plates welded underneath, I'll bet the car weighed an extra thousand pounds. heh

The movie had some great driving with a total nonstop chase, but no plot other than to steal this car and get away.

I agree with Reg, Gone in 60 Seconds is an awesome movie in DD atmosphere. Plus, I loved the humor, classic Cage humor. :)

My opinion of the movie is that its very dull. Doesn't get very climatic and it hardly drove my interest. Storyline's pretty pathetic and a bit unrealistic, I mean like really 60 top of the line wheelers in a couple la days, um ok. The adrenaline's just not there.

Sound wasn't all that spectacular either, dolby, dts, thx or what have you.

Sex appeal, what sex appeal? All you get is a glimpse here and a glimpse there, of the car and the sex scenes ;) Cutting corners I see.....

Bought it watched it, SOLD IT to Biohazard ;) Shhh!!! hehe
