nah and that was just one group that makes titty movies cause that moive I saw on the shelf at Blockbuster which means Pirates/=Porn, the real reason is cause when the last dual format studio said Fu and the blueray camp sat on thier ass instead of reformating thier focus. I expected them to be quite due to refoucasing thier efforts and they were all hittin the hash!!

I dont care I hedged my bets and got xbox/ps3 and havent spent more then $15 (boxsets not included) on 20 tittles on both formats

PS Microsoft doesnt care cause they wanna push thier xboxLive video rentals and wont be doing BR any time soon

Yes that is kind of true for the Xbox 360, LG who has made drives in the past for it and does make Bluray drives might be the company Microsoft might look at for that. The other possibility could be Samsung.

HD DVD is pretty much dead now, since Toshiba was pretty much the only company producing the players, which included the add-on for the Xbox 360.

HD DVD lost simply because of the PS3. Studios recognized there would be more homes with a PS3 and/or a Blu-ray player, than there would be ones with a standalone HD DVD or add-on for 360. Sales started to reflect that as one by one, studios started jumping ship.

Still since the initial launch, the PS3 is the better buy when looking at Blu-ray, due to its easy ability to get online for updates and more frequent ones.

It's not a matter of who makes the players, it's who owns the format and rights to it.
There will be 10-15 companies making or rebaging players and burners, but 1 company will get royalties on them all because they own the format rights/properties.

Mojo=I've been following this over on xboxscene.com but with MS video store growing and raking in the cash they have no incentive to add another extenal player and have officially said so as Blu-ray would cut into thier live profit

PS dont forget that the owners of HD sets in the US is far under 50% of those with tv's and an even smaller margin of those with HD have gone BD/HD

Well, it is only natural for Paramount to jump. They were the only real hold-out. Though it did piss people off who expected Transformers to come out on Blu-Ray. I think the only other exclusive HD DVD had was NBC and Universal.

Looks like Paramount got some free money by jumping ship for only around 6 months.

Wonder if they'll have a trade in option when the HD exclusive tittles come to blueray, hate to get price gouge in a few years when they've stop making units, doubt i could get one imported. US will be the only territory to be Blu-ray only, with most of euorpe high supporting HD.
