fuse location need

fuse location need
my dash lights are out on my pos 98 f-150 any one know what fuse panel to look at for for this fuse .its so cold out i dont want to be there freezing trying to find it .
the Last time I was Talking to myself . I got into such a heated argument . that is why I swore I never talk to that guy again. you know what it worked now no buddy talking to me.

If it's anything like my 96 F-150, the fuse panel should be under the steering wheel, somewhere to the left. One small panel you pull down...
Of course, if it's anything like me truck, the headlight switch rotates to set the dimness of the dash lights. See if it's all the way to the left, and if you can rotate it to the right, try. It might fix that.
Edit: Thinking again, the fuse panel could either be there, or under the hood, near the drivers side firewall. Just above where the air filter goes. *shrugs* See if that's right or not.

there both were you say .im wondering what one has the fuse for the dimmers in it ?with a wind chill of 8 outside .aright now im not wanting to be outside long with a flashlight looking for the right fuse to replace .and my owners manual book is missing

More than likely the one under the steering wheel. If you pull the panel and look at the back of it, it should have a diagram telling you what fuse does what. Let me dash out to my truck and see if I can figure out where it is. One min
Edit: Alright, on my truck, the fuse you'd be looking for is under the dash, fuse #4, a 15. It's on the bottom left corner. I pulled it, and the dash lights wouldn't turn on. I'm not sure about your truck, but hopefully this will give you an idea of where to start looking

i just checked tomorrow i have to repair it .the replacement fuses i have are the older large type these are like 1/3 the size of the unit i have .dam auto companys are always swapping thing

ya mini to the one im use to replacing in all my older /newer gm cars even my old e-150 van used the larger plastic fuses !
