Ok more wuestions. I now have my processor, HS and fan. It is a AMD Duron 600 and a Globalwin FOP32-1 HS and fan. I have artic silver holding it togher. I want to get the most speed ans performance out of this baby.I have unlocked the cpu. When i go into bios i have changed the speed to 800 for now. What is the multiplier thing? What should i change it to? whats the deal?

Thanks,

muliplier is what the cpu uses to determine final speed

multiplier x front side bus = cpu mhz

with the duron start at 8x100 and move the multiplier up until it boot into windows

you will need to increase the cpu voltage to 1.85 to get the maximum overclock

when you finsd the highest multiplier that works, try edging up the fsb 101, 102, etc.

find the highest combo that seems stable then start looping 3dmark or sandra burn in programs - whatever combo you get to will be the bsest for that cpu - i have a durn 700 that does 950 fine, but a tbird 650 that only goes to 800

unless you've got the kt133a chipset your highest fsb will be <110

have fun - when you get the highest mhz, then you can start chapter 2: is my ram optimized :)

And if it locks up......

Put a big mother of a fan into the side of the casing.Take off the case and get the windows open and fan it hard!
I use a big house fan layed on its side.

If it doesn't lock up then you know its heat!

Luck
A little crazy, but safe enough
