i think my kid killed it yesterday . she smash the front end. and took both doors with it .
she screwed up and pulled out into traffic .
anyway what you guys think the insurace companys going to do ?
from seeing the pictures i got .
looks like it needs a front clip and both front doors .and a wheel cover min.
i went looking online and see the front clip is $2000 ,doors are $200 and $250 each recyle from scramms the gm recyler . and then theres the cost of R&R all the parts and painting.
looking at kellys blue book retail for the car is $4800.
car has full coverage broadened on it .
the Last time I was Talking to myself . I got into such a heated argument . that is why I swore I never talk to that guy again. you know what it worked now no buddy talking to me. :help

I gotta believe they will hand you a check instead of a rental if it had as much damage as you said. I wouldn't put my daughter back into a welded back together unitized car body for any price.
My opinion anyway.

If the engine cradle took a hit it could have left some unseen damage. Also struts and control arms get bent easy on these things. This is where you end up with alignment problems etc. Make sure the adjuster checks all that.

Hard to tell exactly from the pics, but the left front took a good hit and the right fender area. I would say, but not sure that the door pillars may be pushed back from impact and some of the left front hit may have forced the cradle back. The right front side I think would have been pushed in more if the tire hadn't absorbed some of the shock. Very likely bent steering related parts there. I think it will take alot of parts to fix it and it may still never handle right. I checked online the other day on that year car and the best value I could find for it was $3100 with low miles and in perfect condition. Not sure they will total it, but I think they should. Another thing to look at is the front left bumper. It got gouged up bad and those rubber bumpers bounce back in shape to some extent after an impact, but it was a point that took a great deal of shock. That is another point that could have pushed the cradle system back. The cradle can be replaced, but if the mounting points are pushed out of their original factory position, you will never be able to get the frontend alignment right and replace tires faster than I change my underwear. Try to be there when the adjuster shows up and quiz the crap out of him on some of this stuff.

Thats what a dealer would sell it for. Use trade in for a realistic price. Insurance value should be closer to that.

Lets hope so. You don't want that car back. Believe me. If they don't total it on the spot, you still have the option to get I think up to 3 estimates from Body Shops. I recommend you don't get it from a shop they recommend to you.
