No real point right now. Driver support is still sketchy (especially with things like printers and TV tuner cards.) plus, the lack of 16-bit support means some applications which use old versions of Installshield might not install.
I wager it'll be best to wait for Vista before looking at going 64-bit.

That's my worry on any Windows upgrade, is it backwards compatible with my software and hardware.
I lost good hardware long ago because WIN98 would not use the hardware drivers from Win 3.1 stuff and manufacturers like Creative labs did not think my investment in thier hardware was worth supporting with new drivers that would work.
Nasty thing MS did! Install Win3.1 first and hardware then upgrade to WIN98 and the hardware worked perfect. M$ just changed stuff so the drivers files would not be recognized by 98 durring install is all. I for one am in no hurry to run into that again!
I still use some software from Win3.1 days. I like an old progam better than I do Photoshop for alot of stuff!
Maybe stuff like VMware will help avoid such things in the future though? Run a virtual W2K system in Windows XP64bit or Vista perhaps and be able to use unsupported stuff that way??
Dual boot was always a pain for me. Always busy in one OS and need the other OS for something!
Kinda why I am trying out VMplayer, maybe virtaul Machines are the answer for some things? Though I have not done enough to figure it out yet.
