What real world advantage does AM2 have over the 939 socket?
Is it worth changing out a 939 setup for an AM2?
AM2 vs. 939?
From what little I have read there is very little performance difference. Biggest thing is the AM2 "might" provide more for newer upgrades down the road.
But if it's "worth changing to am2" now, I'd say no. Because the am2 prices are higher. I'd get it when you need to. Then the prices will be much lower.
I'd wait for others opinions though because I have been out of the loop for a while.

Ditto. From all benchmarks real world AM2/DDR2 performance is no improvement over 939. It's just that 939 is being phased out and AM2 is the new standard. Eventually AM2 will probably outperform 939 with next gen chips, but right now get the best bang for the bucks. As long as you know that your next CPU upgrade will also entail a mobo upgrade.

Thanks. I wasn't sure. I made a mistake when putting my new computer together and ordered the AMD 4200+ Dual core Windsor. (which is AM2) I have the Asus A8N32-SLI deluxe. (939) I had the chip, but I had the wrong board. I was going to sell the board, or sell the chip. I picked selling the chip. Wondering if I made the right choice or not.

Nice rock stable board. I don't think you can go wrong, and the price on 939 CPUs is dropping like crazy so you can get a good deal on one now.
