Laptop QUestion

Post by beef »

My sister came to be because she claimed her laptop would power down after aproxiemently five minutes of use. Well i booted it up, and couldnt hear the fan running, and figured it had died and that explained why the thing would shut off, cause it has a heat sensor in it. Anyways, took it apart, and now i need to find a new fan for it. was wondering if like the geek squad at best buy would have it, or if it would be better off just to get it from dell.

Did you check to see if the laptop is under warranty? If so Dell will mail you one. You can go to Dell's website, Support section, enter the Service tag and it'll tell you if it's under warranty.

http://www.affordablecomputers.com sells Dell laptop fans and other parts. ResellerRating of 7 - not great, but not bad.

There are others. Search google.

Or you can deal with Dell directly.

This is not an off the shelf fan - your only source is an original Dell component, either new or pulled.

If not under warranty. Check Ebay.

talked to tell breifly this morning. Of course its not still under warranty. There was one on ebay for 20, i found one on a website new for 60. I gotta call dell on monday morning to see how much theres is. Its not like i have to pay for it, and i suggested her to just get a new one. These dell lappies get stinkin hot.
