Quick SCSI adapter question

Post by Viperoni »

If I want to adapt some internal 80 pin U320 HD's to 68pin LVD (I have an Adaptec 29160LP card: U160, Low Profile), will the adapters that just stick on the back of the HD cause any speed loss?
IE: drop down from U160 to regular 40mbps SCSI III?

In particular, I was looking at this unit: http://cgi.ebay.com/SCA-Adapter-80-to-6 ... dZViewItem

Thanks guys :)

I don't think so. there's only short traces between the two connectors, as long as they pass through properly there shouldn't be an issue. the cable and terminator are far more important.
