Background issues with Microsoft Office

Post by johnny »

I can't seem to figuree out how to make the background fit the entire page. It always prints about 1/4" from the edges and therefore leaves a small white border. I have tried it in Publisher, Word and both Office 2003 and v12 BETA wioth the same results.

There must be a way to make the background stretch to fit the entire page and I was hoping someone here might be able to help me out.

thanks.

It's a limitation of the printer mechanics, not the software. You CAN'T fill a page edge to edge with printing. Mechanically there has to be a border for the printer feed mechanism to hold the left and right edges of the paper.

Most printers will allow you to print to nearly the top and bottom edges (depends on the printer) but I'm not aware of any printer that allows you to get closer than 1/4" to the right and left edges except for specialty plotters.

Thanks FP that makes sense. I guess I'll just send these off to the professional printers then.
