my daughter's 4600 quit working after about 9 mos - lens error - just sent it to them with a copy of the receipt, the acknowledged receipt and had it back in about 2 weeks with a new lens assembly...no rma required just send it in - like that in a company and i've been looking for a camera for #1 son and will probably pick a nikon

I've had good luck with Canon. My Camcorder started eating tape after 6 months. They RMA'd it with no need for a receipt, and I got it back in about 2 weeks good as new.
