I heard the action of "Croutching Tiger, hidden Dragon" whooped that of the matrix. I've only seen the trailer, but if it's true, Matrix2 better have either a damn good story or damn good action (to back up the lack of a story) Personally, I only thought the first one was good for the action, but even then it wasn't completely "original." That sorta action of being able to swoop the camera around like that has been done before. Still "alright" though. THe action was actually kinda weak now that I think about it?

Tomb Raider and Final Fantasy both will blow goats. Although, with all the teenage testosterone running around in here, it will Tomb Raider will probably get rave reviews...

I'm looking forward to Pearl Harbor (my girl has been screaming about it since August :o ).
On a long enough time line, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

Matrix 2 (#1 most anticipated by a long shot, but Christmas 2002! ARGH!)
Blade 2 (1st one was great)
Final Fantasy (this will NOT blow goats)
Lord of the Rings (looks like a great epic)
Tomb Raider (looks pretty good)
Pearl Harbor (looks very good)
X-Men 2 (there should be one)
Terminator 3 (hopefully)

WeekendWarrior, Mummy wasn't the highest selling DVD, it was Gladiator.

Personally I thought Mummy was cheese, but that's just me.

Hipnotic_Tranz, Crouching Tiger was alright, but no way was the action better than Matrix, at least not to me. There was a lot of cool martial arts, but it didn't have the same flair as Matrix, IMHO.

Tunis Gladiator was only the fastest selling dvd in the "first week " of release...
btw I would not buy Gladiator...I thought it was ok but way too slow...Braveheart owned it !
I think the Mummy was for 1999 sales ...
I'm still working on the source for more info...haha

Uh, it was splitfire dogging FF. I doubt it'll be that good, but I plan on seeing it.

The action in the Matrix was SUCK compared to CT, HD!!! The Matrix was pansy slow-motion action compared to CT's full-tilt, FULL-SPEED, blazing wire-fu with CHICKS! Michelle Yeoh would KILL Ted "Theodore" Logan's Dogstar ass without breaking a sweat (or a nail!)

Also, as OK as The Matrix was, if you'd seen "Dark City" first, it wasn't as great as the frothing masses would make it out to be.

(BTW: I don't hate The Matrix, in fact, it was the first DVD I ever bought, BUT it's Best Visual Effects Oscar upset over The Phantom Menance was a travesty. Pod Race vs. Gap ad should've been no contest.)

Back to the topic...

Hannibal - Saw some good reviews at AICN about this, but they also loved "Gladiator" and the regulars know my feelings about THAT overrated piece of sh*t!!!

Tomb Ho: The Motion Picture - The script is supposed to be good, the scenery is great and the action looks hype y'all! Also, my girlfriend is so hot for Angelina Jolie (with the English accent, to boot) that I'm guaranteed to get some!:tongue

Planet of the Apes - I'm certain that Tim Burton's gonna screw this up, but I'm game to watch the train wreck.

Metal God - It'll be interesting to see how accurate they get the whole music biz and band stuff. (I think this is being called "Rock Star" now, bad title, MG is the original)
