nice new option on Dell desktops

Post by b-man1 »

i just noticed that Dell has their "DataSafe" option when configuring new systems...they add in a second hard drive and install Ghost 10 to do automated restore images to it. pretty nice option.

Nice option as long as the drive does not fail :)

Also, this is only available for select models.

Something you can easily do yourself also, although it's nice that they offer it.

If it's a mission critical system you're best off with a hardware RAID mirror though.

I thought I was going to see that they were offering AMD chips in their computers. This option isn't as nice as I had expected, but it is great for people who have no idea.

Heh. Yeah, I thought the same thing. There's been a lot of buzz on the tech boards that Dell is going to start offering systems with AMD processors.

FlyingPenguin, this is only going to happen if Intel decides to stop offering them advantages for selling Intel Only.
When all else fails, replace the user.
