Can Pull but cannot Push data ??

Post by Koo Koo Mouse »

Hi guys..A simple question I think?
What I'm after here is to move all my data to a mass storge device. The comp needs a good old fashoind formattin. It's way over due and shes getting it soon.
I am an idoit on these thing so beare with me please. (:

So far I have frierd up the old comp in the bedroom.. It runs and has 70 gig free HD space..more than enough space for temp storage. It's allways had internet thu the router.. Hmmm
DuHH K Here we go.. set up the wizards and I can see eack other on both ends. I can PULL anyhing from one to the other.. works great.. BUT if I SEND thru copy and / or drag en drop and I get a denied accesse error.. Both computers do this when triyng to transfer out.. Weird.. I can import but not send??

Too add.... the cable modem is not even powerd up
No bigggie but I find tihs a bit strange..

Ok, what OS.

All you need to do, is on the computer that you will store the data, is set up a folder that has full read / write access over the netowrk.

Right click the folder and hit share.

XP default permissions don't allow right. If you are using Simple File Sharing click the box to allow users to change files. If not (this also applies for Win2k) click the Permissions box on the Sharing tab and select write access.
