Hard Disk Failures

Post by 123cool »

remember a couple of week back when i lost my IDE HDD, well ive just also lost my SATA drive.(using my old computer at the moment)

anyway when i booted up this morning the system started to boot and froze on the win2k loading screen the one with the image and blue bar, i restarted and got the error "Boot disk drive failure, please insert boot disk and press enter to continue" so i rebooted it and neither HDD is listed in the BIOS.. this sort of sucks considering i just got the system running the way i wanted.

anyone got any ideas what would cause both HDD one IDE and one SATA to fail within a few weeks of each other? seems strange it could just be my own fault for saying ive never had HDD fail on me then both go almost together. :(

forgot to say the HDD activity light lights up when i switch on the system yet i cant hear the HDD spinning or reading, probs just reporting IDE activity from the CD mabye?

Maybe some corrosion on the SATA connector.
