Gone to Uni and College this Fall

hey all,
I have finally been accepted to the University OF Winnipeg and Red River College in Winnipeg (du) the reason its two places is because its a CO-OP between the college and university. either way I was wondering what would be a good computer (tower) for home use then a laptop for school?

not to mention I'm going to have a lot of books to buy.

If you are getting both, get a dell desktop and a HP laptop.

and years back i did tell people to buy hp ! hell i even have owned them in the past and my daughter has a p3-500 hp laptop but i would not buy one today unless i seen major changes at hp/compaq and i can get a discount for myself on there stuff !

yup i agree, dont go hp unless u want problems, till this day the unit is still not in the condition that i purchased it for and im still waiting for a call from them to see whos handling my case, because some dumbnuts dont know what happen to my case manager, its already about 3 to 4 weeks since i got it back and its still having probs. As soon as it gets fixed properly, im gonna sell it and get dell.

Wouldn't go with the HP/Compaq laptop's myself either.
Personally, I'd go with IBM.

HP towers, OTOH, are pretty good. But you BETTER build your own if you can

HP sucks period.I bought a new one back in january..it lasted about a week.I told them to keep the damn thing

IBM's are built like tanks..I've had several t'20's with no problems whatsoever..I have a Dell Inspirion 8000 atm..it's nice but kinda heavy imo.
