I just installed it on Christmas. Who's up for some multiplayer? We usually play on Tuesday nights at 8 PM and Wednesday nights at 7 PM Pacific time. We've got 4 players so far.

We've been playing COD 1 United Offensive, Quake 4 demo, Need for Speed Most Wanted Demo, UT2004(for Steve) and Call of Duty 2. I'll probably launch the server after we all meet in TeamSpeak 2.
I emailed you the details.

Excellent game if you ask me. I only have a couple of gripes. 1, the autohealth gets annoying... and 2, I can't finish it. The level after the tank commander with Davis won't play on my computer. Pisses me off.

Here's a good tweaking guide for COD2:
http://www.tweakguides.com/COD2_1.html

One surprise is that "optimize for SLI=yes" can you give you a 50% performance boost with only one video card. Another is that it reverts back to off, everytime you restart the game.
To prevent this make a new file called "autoexec.cfg" in your main directory,
then add the following line to it:
r_multigpu 1

To load the console type: ~
From the console type: "\exec autoexec.cfg" to load the file while in the game
To show the framerates type: "\cg_drawFPS 1" from the console.
Make sure your minimum framerates stay above 30 in the middle of a fire fight.

Happy hunting.

you dont say.. 50% increase even tho you only have 1 card.... sounds fishy to me. Allmost like having dual doesent do anything.

I agree with Pugs. I did that on my computer, and I got about a 10% boost with my comp. It is a bit fishy...

It looks like optimise for SLI=Yes gives a 5-20% gain with a single GPU and up to 90% gain with 2 GPUs.
An average 10% increase is well worth it in this game.

Here's optimise for SLI=yes on a single card:

Here's optimise for SLI=yes on dual cards:
http://firingsquad.com/hardware/call_of ... /page9.asp

Here's an explanation of the problem:

Was I the only one unimpressed with this game? Graphically speaking its pretty nice, but the gameplay put me to sleep. It's just so linear and similar to pretty much every other WWII fps that I found it hardly was able to keep my interest.

I was impressed at first, until I began to play it. After 15 minutes of play, I had a different opinion than before. The game had potential, but they ruined it with the auto health and the short game play, even all 3 episodes.

Yeah, I found the autohealth pretty annoying as well. However, it was the bland gameplay that ultimately ruined it for me.
