Post by wvjohn »

want to get one that is digital and not real expensive - curerntly have a busted 12 lb vhs circa 1991 and a busted mini-vhs circa 1996 :)

is the "no shake feature" good?
what kind of media are they using now?
want to be able to do easy xfers to puter to edit, etc.

Can't help you in deciding a camera, but I will tell you that the "no shake" feature is an excellent feature to have. When we used Sony Handycams(i think that's what they're called) for class, the "no shake" feature provided a night and day difference in videos.

I have a JVC MiniDV cam and I've been super happy with it. Easy transfers to the PC via FireWire.. I would just recommend that you do get a MiniDV cam if you get anything. :)
