new Cable modem! wow!

after having very slow connections and hangs and calling 5 or 7 times Comcast I decided to get rid of the old 3 year old cable modem I got with my service, and guess what?

yes! this is a Ferrari compared to that old hot ugly beige modem! I asked about this a while ago and now I can tell there is a huge difference, if you want more info read the reviews at newegg


plus I do not have to pay $3 bucks per month anylonger for"renting the modem to comcast" jeez

Cool Augix! That's the one I had originally. Now I have an Arris Cable Modem w/VoIP support that the cable company installed. No difference in speed between the two so far as I can tell. I'm surprised they didn't want to swap this out for another one when I cancelled the VoIP, but whatever.

hehe.. I know a lot of my clients still have those.. In fact the company is still giving them out as of about 3 months ago.. lol.. Go figure..

I'm tellin you... with the older beige crap I was able to download at average maybe 350-390KB/Sec with luck

How are pings when doing that? I have a 4100 and its easily very fast but when I do max my cap pings go up by a couple hundred ms. I've been caping myself at around 2megs down just to keep pings reasonable.
