new monitor

Post by wvjohn »

lent my wife my 19" samsung monitor for a week while I was out of town ... and she decided that it was betterthan her 17" ....so I picked up a NEC Accusynch 900 19" from staples for $180 - it's black which is cool looking and seems to have good color .. runs 1024 which is what I use @ 85 with no probs and does 16x12 at 75...unfortunately I need at least 1024 to see what I am doing do the flat panels don't come in that flavor

yes, all the LCD monitors will be capable of doing at least 1024x768
When all else fails, replace the user.

maybe he means is there any that look good at 1024x768 since many dont have that as their native resolution. many of the ones ive looked at are much higher

yep, the native resolution is the problem - we have a bunch of 17" planars at work which are very nice at 1024 but look fuzzy at a lower res - a couple of the secretaries had to turn them down to 800 because the type was too small for them - none of the 19' I looked at have 1024 as native - I only use the native 18x whatever on my lappy to watch movies - otherwise I have to turn it down to 1024 and there is a real loss of sharpness
