external hard drive

I bought an external hard drive enclosure for a laptop hard drive recently because i have a laptop that i am not using that has a ten gig hard drive in it. Now can i just click on the removable drive in my computer and hist format and it will format the whole drive. Or is there an ordeal I have to go through to format this laptop hard drive.

you can right-click and choose format or open the computer management...disk management and format it there.
