Every had a HDD not boot but work?
This HDD has been reformatted, boot sector redone, and I can not get it to boot. The HDD works in every way. But when I boot off of a WinXP CD and install windows it will not boot from the HDD. Yes, The settings in bios are correct and the jumpers are right.
Anyone ever have this problem or know what I can do to try and fix it?
The mobo will boot from other HDDs.

let me know how was it... the drive u have the problem its a main hdd with a winxp copy running ? if not... and if you cant use fixmbr try to do a installation of xp in ur corrupted drive it does not matter that don't work but then when u go to the recovery console u can pick that installation and do the fixmbr... I did it like that since the problem for me was a secondary drive...

you've probly fixed it by now - but if not, dl the llf utility from the MFGR - it will tell you if the disk was set to be bootable. it may also let you change that status - otherwise to make a non-bootable drive bootable, backup any files you want to save, run the LowLevelFormat program for the drive (tell it to be bootable) and when its done you can put the data back and it should be bopotable.

jayscybertrhs, this is one of several nonsense posts you've made with dubious or outright bad information. Don't post misleading information please.you've probly fixed it by now - but if not, dl the llf utility from the MFGR - it will tell you if the disk was set to be bootable. it may also let you change that status - otherwise to make a non-bootable drive bootable, backup any files you want to save, run the LowLevelFormat program for the drive (tell it to be bootable) and when its done you can put the data back and it should be bopotable.
