You don't want ECC. It's for servers. You also can't usually mix ECC and non ECC. Depends on the mobo.

Fair warning Voodoo. I have the same mobo and it's VERY fussy about memory. DO NOT buy memory that is not specifaclly certified for that board AND check the memory manufacturer's web site for specific timing settings.

Asus's web site should have a list of certified memory.

I bought some premium Corsair memory for my board and it didn't work properly until I went to Corsair's site and found a FAQ that listed exact timing settings to use with this memory on this particular mobo. Worked fine after that.

That mobo also uses dual channel memory mode, so you want TWO matched memory sticks to take advantage of the performance benefits. One stick will not run in dual channel mode.

Read the manual. For dual channel mode you MUST have a chip in socket B1, and then one in either A1 or A2.

You should DEFINATELY go here and check for the proper Corsair memory that will work with your mobo, and any timing recommendations: http://compatible.corsairmemory.com/Default.aspx
