Power supply Q

Post by Key Keeper »

I purchased an asus a8n sli mobo and it has the 24 pin atx power plug. I am using the old atx with only 20 pins. Is it neccessary to use the 24? I dont seem to have any problems so far. Psu is an Aspire 500w with a 34amp rating on the 12+ side.
