You can install scsi drives and sata drives in the same machine. The first thing that I thought about when I read your post was the bois. I had major issues till I went in and changed the boot configuation. Once that was right XP installed in 12 min or so. Took longer to put the raid drivers on a floppy. My mobo supports IDE raid, Sata raid, and SCSI card raid, so you shouldnt have any problems using scsi drives with your raptor. Hell, throw some IDE drives in there while your at it.

Now that I've solved the #1 problem with my new system (bios reflash, upgrade cured), I'll play with getting my 2 SCSI HDDs to boot normally with it too.
What I plan to do is DL and install the latest SCSI card drivers for my card (not just the generic XP drivers) and then I think it'll boot normally.
