ARGH! A death in the family

Post by Invisible Evil »

My WD 80bg 8mb just went south.. Im still trying to figure out why though, no signs as to it happening soon or how.. Tis a mystery. No changes in configs, nothing, turned off my puter to move my desk, turned ot back on found my raptor and them ..................................nothing. Opticals fine. Windows loaded no WD.
Checked all settings just to see. BLA.

Oh well Ill look into it a little more tonight. Thank goodness I had my backup drive backed up with an external drive. Cuz I just got the Raptor and havnt sent my goodies over to it. prolly wont.

How hard is WD to deal with on RMA, Drive is still under warrantee,

WD is fine, just do advanced RMA, they send you a drive, then you send yours back in the box you got

a word to the wise, with all this 1 yr warranty bs now, i still buy used drives by maxtor wd etc..
but when im purchasing new drives for myself or freinds all i have been buying lately is seagates
they are usually about 12-15 more, but the 5 year warranty is way worth it, not to mention they are quiet drives
