DirectX

Post by Executioner »

How do I determine my directX verison in XP? I know when I was running win98, it had an icon in the control panel. I can't find anything for XP. I'm pretty sure I have 9.0c, but wanted to make sure.

I have often wondered the same thing. The only way I have ever been able to find out anything about DriectX or run the diagnostic on it in XP is with the use of Sisoft Sandra. If you have that run it and there is a menu item in one of the top row of tabs for DriectX info.

At least I'm not a goober member. ;)

The reason I did not know because I used Win98 until just 2 months ago, and Win98 had the directx icon in the control panel.

In Win98, in the Control Panel, I had a directx icon to click on. I never used the run command for directx. Since I upgraded to XP, I was assuming that the xp control panel would also have a directx icon.

By the way, there is no need to slam people that simply don't know certain things about pc's. I like this board because people here share their knowledge about pc's. It's just like the question you posted in the video forum:
