Mass editing ID3 tags????????

Does anyone know of any software out there that will allow me to mass edit ID3 tags? Like, as in, I select say 1000 mp3s and edit the ID3 tags of all of them at once to list them as the same artist, or album, etc? I recently picked up a creative zen mp3 player and I absolutely DETEST the way it organizes files. It does not simply allow me to keep my music organized in folders as I normally do. Instead, it lumps them all into one big folder and only will allow you to access them as albums based on the album portion of the ID3 tag. This sucks, but, if I can get a program that can handle this, I'll be able to get everything the way I want. It will be more work, but its better than nothing.

I prefer the older version, 2.3.4. It's easier to use than the newer version.
