Wow CNN has some nice election data tools.
On thir main page, click on the "Electoral Scorecard" link. You can get breakdowns of the poll data by county. Interesting stuff.

Another useful link: http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2004/pages/ ... index.html
Lots of data. Some interesting statistics so far. All the pundits said that women were overwhelmingly going to vote for Bush but so far women seem to heavily prefer Kerry. Interesting to see how that changes during the night.
The Internet is a wonderful thing.
Oops, 11:33pm Kerry just picked up California (sorry Arnold). That brought the electoral votes close to even:
Bush 197
Kerry 188

12:25 am - CNN has Florida going to Bush by a large enough amount to avoid arguements I think.
I suspect Ohio will be the Florida of this year's election. It's going to be very close there AND 70% of their polling places use the same old punch cards that Florida used to use.

Watching CNN live they at one time had bush 190-112, now it's 249-196.
I'm not so sure electoral votes are the fairest way. Isn't it suppose to (or should) be the majority of actual votes. geez
But that's me thinking. And I hate politics.

Maybe not the best reason for the electorial vote but an explaination of why:
http://www.house.gov/paul/tst/tst2004/tst110104.htm
The pres is not elected on popular vote but by the electorial vote to more represent the States rights.
I personally agree with the idea of an electorial vers a popular vote. If we went on the popular vote then only the largely populated areas would sellect the president and a large part of the US would not have a voice in the election.

Sheesh we don't need this. 7:30am and it's Bush 254, Kerry 252 with only 3 states left (one is Ohio, and Ohio is impossibly too close to call).
Almost a certain Bush victory becuase the two states other than Ohio look like they're going his way.
HOWEVER I'm afraid it's looking like it's gonna be close enough that the Kerry camp will likely take it to the courts and that won't be a good thing for the country right now.

I do not understand the Kerry Camp ... Why would a person take to courts the one thing your country stands for and that country for which that person was trying to be president of.
We fight and kill for democracy accross the world and now when the Kerry Camp doesnt win, they attack the philosophy of Democracy. I just dont get it.
I do understand the Kerry Camp not admitting defeat until every vote is counted, even if they have statistically lost, and I appreciate it.
