Need help with SATA drive

Post by nitro237 »

OK , I am trying to set up a SATA hard drive on a ASUS A7N8X Deluxe mobo . I have the SATA jumper on the mobo enabled . I see the hard drive when I hit F4 and go into the Raid utility . But when I try to install windows it says it can find a hard drive . I know this has to be some type of setting ?? I just don't know much about the SATA drives .

TIA

You need to hit F6 when you go to install windows and install the raid controller drivers from a floppy.. ;)

Was the SATA controller on the P4C800 native? If so that's why. :)

That was probably it . Any workaround on this so I don't have to dig out a floppy drive ?

you can set to native mode, then go back and enable sata and it should work.
