Ok, I have a CD-ROM/RW drive on my comp. (shock!)
In My Computer though, E:/ drive is shown as 'DVD Drive', ????
How can that be, it says its a generic SCSI DVD drive in System information, but the drive doesn't read DVD's at all.
?

Do you have DAEMON Tools or some other CD emulation software installed? A virtual CD always shows up as a SCSI DVD in Windows XP.
Possible your physical CD drive is not working and you're not seeing that, all you're seeing is the virtual CD.
Your CD burner may also show up as a DVD if it's a CD-RW/DVD Rom combo (as most CD/RW drives are nowadays). Although it shouldn't show up as a SCSI drive if it's IDE.
