Whats a good p4 mobo combo..
Its been awhile since I've been able to upgrade my box and i was wondering what is a good p4 chip(overclockable and affordable) and whats the best mobo to go with it. Looking for rock solid stability in mobo.

Honestly, I'd go with an A64 platform before I would a P4. If you're not looking to spend that much, I'd get an NF2 Ultra 400 board w/a Barton 2500+ they can reach 3200+ speeds easily. I don't know much about P4 I'm actually looking for a P4 400FSB for a P4 board that I have. Just don't want to spend a lot for the old Technology.
But whichever you choose, best of luck to you!

mother board. Well if you go P4 then P4 2.4C (800 fsb) overclocks very well and get yourself a nice Intel 875. I like the ABIT IC7 orr IS7. Nice feature rich board average price and good overclockers. They report temps inacurately though (7-12 higher than actual) but if you keep that in mind when you do your O?C then you will be fine. I haven't handled a 2.4C that won't hit 3.0 - 3.2.
Enjoy!
Enjoy!
If you look for budget the P4 2.4A is a prescott chip with 1MB L2 cache. 533 FSB. I had it running at 3.2 with Stock cooling (it comes with a nice heatsink with coppercore) MB i use is ASUS P4S800.
HardOCP OC'd this chip to 3.7 on stock cooling, they used more expensive board, but that wasnt in my budget. Read the review here.
