Any TFC players using STEAM?

Post by Executioner »

OK, I got convered over, but the stupid program placed the new install in drive C. I normally have a partition setup for games only on my D drive. No biggie unless I copy over 3 gigs worth of maps.

How do I change the font in the game? That has to be the crappest font I've seen, especially when trying to read the small print. Anyone know of a way to change it? I could not find it in any settings.

Not sure if there's a way to change it.

I don't have a problem with the font myself - it's more readable than the old HL font, plus it's now scalable to your resolution. Unless it's a TFC thing - I only play CS & DOD.

As long as you have a Stream account you can just re-install Steam anytime to a different drive and then just copy your maps and configs from the old folder.

Well, fire up Steam today only to discover that someone had taken my CD key. FVCK! So I uninstalled it and this time around, I installed it on my D drive so I can move my maps over.

I had to type in my CD key from the original CD, but it said the servers were busy and could not confirm the key. So now I have to wait again, but more than likely, I have to send them my cover from the game CD so they can reassign the key back to me. What a hassle.

One thing that still bugs the crap out of me is the screen font when messages are being typed, or any messages from the game itself. It's just hard to read. Maybe my resolution is not correct? I've always played TFC at 800x600.

I used to play at Bob the Server Low Gravity all the time. its was a blast. we had 2 regulars that were mappers so we would allways have fun maps to play on. Redux was one of them... i cant remember who the other one was.

I really don't understand why you're having a problem. It's a scalable font now. Used to be that the higher your resolution, the smaller the font, but they fixed that. Fonts are very readable in Steam.

Aww yes, good ol' TF, I remember back when Half life's game of the year edition came out with TF I just about crapped my pants.. having played it in quake 1 before...

Anyone Think about renting a server? be cool to have an official PCA TF server...

for the record: CS is for the birds, too many cheaters, piss poor community, Anyone want to prove me wrong with good admins, and legit players.. Correct me with and IP addy..

the Fonts are scalable I thought.. am I crazy? or is the font the same size from 640x480 to 1280x1024 (witch I run)

I wish I can post a pic of what the font looks like on my screen, but I have to wait until Valve resets my CD key. I registred for Steam, but it said my key was already in use by someone else. So I had to mail Valve my original CD sleave with the CD key and wait for an email. :mad

Fonts are the same size no matter what your resolution. It rescales itself. You might want to try re-installing Steam.

i cant even play on steam through public servers
i get banned 85% of the time
im not a professional player, so playing cs in my free time has definitely been a hassle
cant even enjoy the rare servers out there with good ping before gettig banned

its not my fault they made the game easier
i used to take pride in a score of 50 and 5
but now it seems as if anybody could do it

Switch to DOD. I like their servers better. They don't ban you for being good, and they have excellent was of dealing with TKers.

Overall the DoD community is a LOT better than the CS community. Less whiners, people who play the game seriously, well managed servers.
