Looking for app that lets me watch my DV camcorder playback in fullscreen

Post by FlyingPenguin »

I want to be able to watch tapes on my DV Camcorder fullscreen on my lappy (use the lappy as a monitor).

I have a free app called DVApp that lets you watch in a window and also remote controls the tape controls on the camcorder, but you can't get full screen.

Anyone know of an app that will do this? I'd be happy to pay for it so don't care if it's not free.

Thanks.

I've looked at this one before but never have tried it. Don't have a DV camcorder. :d

Looks like you can try before you buy.

*another one:

3) real-time and fullscreen (just press <F>)
4) DirectShow based
5) free from FAST

Free is good. :)

Maybe even this one too:

Second one is a file player that I've already looked into. Doesn't show live playback from the camcorder.

First one looks interesting. Downloading now.

This one does work, and works VERY well:

http://www.riverpast.com/en/prod/playdv/

It's the first one Blade recommended.

The demo only displays the video in 320x240. Once your register it, you get a full size window. It doesn't support fullscreen view yet (they are promising it for the next version) but it will let you maximize the window and the image will fill it. You also get full remote control of the camcorder's VCR.

Worth it for $20
